Howell Middle School Pom Pon Tryout Information 2024-2025

 

Thank you for your interest in the Howell Middle School Pompon program. The handbook (located under the Handbook tab on our menu) will help you to make an informed decision before proceeding through the tryout process. Our team is a competitive pom program and are currently ranked 2nd in the State!

In order to tryout, you must have the following on the first day:

1. Signed permission slip / information form 

2. Copy of your current physical dated on or after April 15, 2024 turned into the athletic office (Forms available on Howell Athletics site)

           *Urgent care gives sports physicals for about $30.00 any day of the week*

 

3. Copy of Latest Report Card or a recent print out of your current PowerSchool grades

WHAT TO EXPECT AT CLINIC/TRYOUTS:

We will be looking for team members who focus and listen throughout the entire clinic and tryout process. Your attentiveness, attitude and behavior will be evaluated daily. Experience is not necessary.

We will be looking for girls with POTENTIAL, not perfection.

TRYOUT ATTIRE: 

Clinic Days: Comfortable practice clothing, athletic shoes and hair pulled completely back.

Tryout Day: Solid white tee shirt (no tank tops), solid black shorts, athletic shoes, and hair completely pulled back.

​

            **Bring a water bottle every day! No jewelry, no gum.** 

The clinic and tryout are closed to spectators. During the clinic you will be taught the tryout routine. On the day of tryouts you will be grouped in predetermined pairs to perform for the judges. 

​

       **You must attend the clinic day in order to tryout on final tryout day.**

**Informational Meeting on 4/23 Reserved for Questions about the sport and handbook starts at 8:45pm!!**    

TRYOUT DATE:

Wednesday 6p-9p at Highlander Way Middle School in the gym

Results will be posted on the team Instagram account (@hmspompon) and on the team website (www.howellmiddleschool.wixsite.com/hmspom). The girls who made the team will also be notified via email.
